THE TABANI GROUP dates back to 1885, where it made its humble beginnings under the name of Messrs. H.A Ganny Brothers, in Rangoon, Burma. H. A. Ganny Brothers led by the present Chairman's grandfather with the entrepreneur spirit which still characteristics the Tabani group initiated trade with Japan and European countries. Under his leadership the firm soon earned a reputation which it still maintains today. It remains a singular honor that the firm H. A. Ganny Brothers of Rangoon, were the first native firm to be registered as importers in British Burma, as is documented in the book "TWENTIETH CENTURY IMPRESSIONS OF BURMA" (page 331) published by Great Britain Publishing Company Limited, 1910.
The shift to former East- Pakistan and then to Pakistan left the family undeterred. Hard- work multiplied their achievements every time. The assets of an unblemished reputation for honesty and integrity are still jealously guarded and upheld at every juncture. The roots of the present empire are based on dedication, honesty and a will to achieve.
Since the last two and a half decades the third generation of the Tabani family has took charge of the Group, under the ambitious leadership of the late President Muhammad Ebrahim Tabani supported by his four younger brothers. All of them worked industriously to set-up a strong manufacturing base in textile and leather garment products, which are now marketed in many countries of the world. After the sudden death of Mr. Muhammad Ebrahim Tabani, responsibility was taken over by Mr. Yaqoob Tabani, who is now the chairman of the Group.
To feel the pulse of the market and set targets, there was a need to have an international Market Network to enhance export trade, particularly in view of the rapidly changing and developing socioeconomic and political conditions the world over. These challenging circumstances have led to the gradual opening of Tabani Group's overseas offices/representations in more than half a dozen locations Worldwide. Presently, the Group has representations in Moscow, Sharjah, Tashkent, Almaty, Bishkek, Ashgabat and the Fareast. All the offices are equipped with the most modern communication facilities and staffed by full time multilingual personnel that are experts in their respective fields.
The process of setting up overseas offices is not yet complete and the Group is in the process of opening more offices to deal directly with new potential markets. This will enable the Group to focus then attention on the areas, which are presently looked after by nearby branches particularly in the CIS and African States.
